Samantha Carrillo Fields is trying again to unseat State Rep. John Frullo.
She said her priorities are expanding Medicaid, public education and climate change. She said she wants to work on bi-partisan green energy solutions and health care access.
Fields said, after getting nearly 40 percent of the vote last time around, she’s ready to win.
“The 86th session was really successful as far as tax reform, but we need to move further. We need people that know the struggles of this district, and having lived here all my life, I know those struggles and I know what the people want,” she said. “And so I’m ready to try and put that in Austin.”
Fields is a member of several Democrat organizations and the NAACP. No other Democrats have announced for this primary.
